This game was a mess. For real though.  We kept it close early on - but then, the Tigers offense did something it usually NEVER does. They scored a lot of runs. Hm. Go figure. Twice we tried to come back, only for nothing to really amount from our rallies. All in all, just a frustrating end to this series against a scrub team. My classic response to an infuriating loss? You know it by now. Run through the recap as quickly as possible, bury this loss deep down in my memories, and never bring it up again. Cool? Cool. It...

WOW. WHAT. A. GAME. For the first 6 innings, this game was depressing as hell. I was repeatedly slamming in my front door. It was not fun. If I kept that going for the whole game, the long-term effects could have been extremely damaging. Thankfully, we came back just in time!! Lance Lynn was on the bump on Tuesday night. And, very similar to Tanaka the night before, he was looking very solid until the middle innings. ALSO very similar to Tanaka, our offense decided to give Lance no run support. Yes, I know what you're saying.  Tanaka was given a...

The Yankees addressed their biggest need at the trade deadline when they boosted their pitching staff and brought in JA Happ and Lance Lynn (and Zach Britton!). The moves have largely worked out, aside from a few bad innings from Britton and Lynn’s relative stinker in his last start, and have forced a struggling Sonny Gray out of the rotation. Sonny made his first start since the demotion in the nightcap of Saturday’s double-header against the Baltimore Orioles. He was dazzling in his performance, finishing with a line of 6.1 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K. He...

Sigh. Well, that game sure wasn't fun. But you know that by now. You probably watched it... If you didn't, didn't you see the title of this blog? Didn't you see me say it again in the paragraph above? Didn't you see my "sigh" in italics? Note: Whenever somebody puts something in italics, you know things are serious. Wait. Here's a nice sighing Drake gif, just to fully drive home the point about how frustrating Wednesday's loss was: You're welcome. Now, as I usually do, let's run through this disappointing game really quickly, put it in the fast, and focus...

If you listen to the podcast, you probably heard Jake say a few episodes back that we should start considering who might be on that Wild Card roster. I’ve decided to take the liberty of actually doing it. For the purposes of this exercise, I’ll assume all the guys who are currently on the DL and haven’t been ruled out for the year will be back and healthy by then. I’ll revisit this in a month or so when we have a better idea of who is healthy, but for now, let’s just assume everyone that’s on the 10-day DL...
