2 in a row against the Astros! That’s what I’m talkin’ about!!
Man, big wins like this get me soo hyped. The most hyped. I feel ready to jump through a brick wall right now. But, I’m probably not going to do that. That would hurt. And it would be a waste of a nice wall…
All kidding aside, it’s hard to script a better win and a better situation for our team. Let me run through a few facts…
The Yankees have:
- Shut out the Astros for two straight games
- Won 11 out of our last 12 games
- Won 5 out of 6 on this road trip vs Angels and Astros
- Beat the shit out of the World Champs – LET’S GO
I love this team so much. I’ve said this a bunch of times, I’ve tweeted it, and it has been running through my head over and over. But goddamn, our guys are on fire right now and it feels great to be a Yankees fan. It’s only early May and I’m so pumped to get into some real summer baseball.
Many times in the next few months, you will be able to find me lounging at the Stadium, with a nice cold beer, watching the Yanks smack around some shitty team – sounds like an ideal day to me.
It might have to be multiple beers, if I’m being honest, because there are going to be some hot ass days in the Bronx this summer. Summer is already basically here and I’m not happy.
I already started sweating after, literally, only 5 mins in the subway station today. Come on New York, figure your shit out. It should still be chilly till at least June. Anyways….
Now let’s get to some of the big guys who stepped up last night! You know where I’m starting:
GIANCARLOOOOOO…FINALLY!!
Finally, Giancarlo “Mike The Terminator” Stanton came up with a massive performance. Two homers, in his first two at bats, and then a RBI double later in the game. He finished with 3 hits and drove in all 4 of our runs.
Giancarlo, man, it is awesome to see him finally come alive. It has been tough seeing him slump, especially since we all know how good this dude can be.
When he is in a groove, the man is not human. I’ve been saying this since Day 1 and I’m sticking to my take (I’m squatting on it, if you will). Giancarlo Stanton is part-Cyborg. Or just a straight Terminator. I don’t know the exact scientific/futuristic lingo.
Hey Ahhnold! If you’re looking for a successor in future Terminator movies, who is already part-Cyborg and has tremendous star power, you should hit up Giancarlo.
Growing up in Florida, I’ve heard my dumbass Marlin fan friends (nice little tongue twister) talk about this guy alllll the time. It almost made me resent him, because I had these depressing Marlins fans constantly rant about the one good thing on their team.
Well, luckily, we stole that one thing from them! We’re like that spoiled little kid on the playground, who steals another kid’s action figure, even though we have a ton of toys back at home.
Conclusion: The Yankees are the greedy and powerful little kid on the playground. And I love it. We’re not greedy, per se, we just get what he want. It’s awesome!
I really hope that this game was a slumpbuster for Giancarlo. When he reallyyy gets going, how the hell is any team going to stop us? News flash: THEY WON’T. No way. Tell ’em, Michelle!
And now, we get to SEVY. Luis Severino, you are a fuckin’ ACE.
Do not listen to the haters and naysayers! This man is elite. He is the present and future of this rotation and he is going to dominate for years to come.
He was amazing last year, an All-Star, and has had a great start to this 2018 campaign. But, it almost feels like last night was truly his arrival. His first complete game shut out. No hitter next?!
Sevy’s final stat line was remarkable:
9 IP, 5 Hits, 0 runs or ER, 1 walk, 10 K’s…holy shit. That is amazing
Ya gotta remember, this kid is only 24! His best is yet to come and, oh baby, it is going to be sweet.
Oh, guess what I just found on Twitter. It’s a quote from one of last night’s stars, talking about the other of last night’s stars – how about that?!
I really can’t get over how good this team can be – it’s scary. So scary, I might dress up as the entire Yankees’ lineup for Halloween this year? What would be scarier than that?
Actually, I can think of two…the clown from IT. Jeez, Skarsgård, you gave me nightmares for a hot minute. And Donald Glover as “Teddy Perkins” in that recent episode of Atlanta.
Sooo, besides the clown and Teddy Perkins, there is nothing scarier than this lineup.
And they’re just getting started!
We’ve got a nice 2 PM E.T finale vs the ‘Stros. Does 2 PM still count as a matinée or is that just 1? Pretty sure 2 works, too. Whoa that was weird to type.
So we got a little matinée baseball! Masa is on the mound for a fun iteration Tanaka Thursday…let’s win this series!
As always, LET’S GO YANKS!
