Game 4 Royals Recap: Sunday July 29: 6-3 WIN: Finally an easy win as JA Happ KILLS his Yankee Debut!

Welcome to the Bronx, JA HAPP!

Glad to have ya.

Normally, I would strongly criticize a guy who spells his name “J.A.” but calls himself “Jay”…Usually, that would be a total asshole move. If he wanted it that way, shouldn’t he just spell it “J. Happ” or “Jay Happ”?

But, because he had a great debut, I will let it slide…for now

6 IP, 3 hits, 1 ER, 1 walk, 2 K’s. The lone run was a solo shot in the 6th inning.

Happ was great and it is apparent that his veteran presence will be a big-time help for us down the stretch. Great call, Cash.

I’ll go through the rest of the pitchers before tackling the offensive side of things. Chad and D-Rob pitched the 7th and 8th innings, each giving up solo shots of their own.

Chappie came in for his 28th save and STRUCK OUT THE SIDE. No Classic Chappie performance on this Sunday afternoon!

NOW, let’s get to the offense!

The 2nd best centerfielder in the AL got us going with a 2 run shot in the first!

ATTABOY, HICKSY

Miggy Andújar added a RBI single in the 4th – I know, not a double. Shocking, right?

The rest of our scoring was not the normal formula for our squad this year. In recent weeks though, we’ve been hitting a few less homers. Am I worried? Hell nah. Teams go through ebbs and flows. Like a river…I think?

So, yeah…Gleyber had a RBI groundout, Greggy had a RBI infield single, and Giancarlo had a sac fly.

That was pretty much it! A nice, comfortable 6-3 win.

It’s pretty crazy honestly – the night before, it looked like we were going to get swept in the day-night doubleheader. Things were looking pretty damn dark.

But, by the end of Sunday, we won 3/4 against the Royals, which I’ll take! I was hoping for the sweep and I would’ve been mad if we split.

But 3 out of 4? That works…

jfff

With an off-day yesterday, we start a quick 2 game set against Baltimore, before we head to Boston.

OH, SHIT…

That is going to be very, very interesting.

And we have just about an hour and a half until the trade deadline! Please excuse me while I constantly refresh Twitter for the next 90 minutes.

Tanaka is on the bump tonight – TANAKA TUESDAY! Let’s get it!

LET’S GO YANKS
