Game 3 Rays Recap: Thursday August 16: 3-1 loss: We lost a series at home to the Rays - How?

Let me rephrase my title of this blog:

"We lost a series at home to the Rays - FUCKKKKK!"

I don't really like to curse until I get into the actual blog, itself. Not trying to totally corrupt America's youth. Doing a good deed, ya know?

Anyways, we lost 3-1. Unreal.

Tanaka was not bad at all, but, once again, we couldn't mount any sort of offense.

His stat line was as follows:

6 IP,  9 hits, 2 ER, 0 walks, 6 Ks.

He gave up 2 runs in the first inning, which is a classic move by Masahiro Tanaka. Normally, an elite offense like ours would take this into consideration, rally, and put up like 6 or 7 runs on a team like this.

Instead, we scored 1 fucking run all day.

Tanaka settled down after the first, not allowing another run in any of his 6 innings. Zach Britton followed suit with a shut out 7th, DRob gave up 1 in the 8th, and then Tommy K (HE'S BACK) kept things in place in the 9th.

Our run in the 8th came off a Giancarlo double - which was first called a homer, but should have resulted in him being at 3rd. Not 2nd...huh?

In short, the ump was an idiot.

REGARDLESS, of playing like shit all day, we still had a chance to win it in the 9th.

Didi and Gleyber singled, while Neil "Doesn't Always Walk, But Sometimes Does" Walker, got a nice walk!

BASES LOADED

Down by 2.

Greg Bird coming up...what can go wrong?

Oh, nothing. Just Greg hitting a measly and weak little foul pop up. ON THE FIRST PITCH.

Tony sums up my reaction perfectly.

I'm getting sooo sick and tired of Greg Bird. He has been playing like shit recently and has shown no signs of improvement. That .211 average is a glaring hole in our lineup.

And then, of course, we got to witness two horrible strikeouts by Gardy and Romine.

Based loaded, down by 2, to start the 9th. And we can't even have one run cross the plate.

Yes, yes, I know we would have still lost, if we only scored 1, but I'm just making a point.

That was a horrible display, on our own field, against a bad team.

But I digress...I don't want to discuss it anymore than what is needed.

Jomboy and Jake covered everything on the podcast.

Okay, tonight we start a 3 game set vs the Blue Jays. It's time to stop fucking around against bad teams. LET'S WIN. LET'S SWEEP.

COME ON.

LET'S GO YANKS
