The New York Yankees have agreed to terms with RHP Adam Ottavino on a three-year contract worth $27 million, according to multiple sources. It sounds like there is growing momentum towards a Sonny Gray trade, so I imagine that will have something to do with the corresponding 40-man roster spot to make room for Ottavino. Ottavino makes an already highly-regarded Yankees bullpen into the consensus best bullpen in baseball, even after losing David Robertson to the Philadelphia Phillies. Brian Cashman had said his plan this offseason was to bring in two relievers, and in the last few weeks the Yanks...

The offseason is far from finished, but Spring Training is now one month away, and there is a more than zero percent chance that the New York Yankees have completed their major offseason transactions. The team you start the season with is never the team you end the season with, but it is about time we project the opening day lineup if the season were to hypothetically start tomorrow. With Didi Gregorius out and Manny Machado and Bryce Harper seemingly out of the picture, who would be on that Opening Day 25-man crew? This is a long blog, so I'm...

I have no words. Literally. Okay, not literally... I'm a world-class blog boy - I can always conjure up a pretty decent blog. Even when I'm disgusted and frustrated by the events I am covering. And last night definitely falls under that category. Holy shit. What the FUCK was that game last night??? I don't even know where to begin.  I was in the Bronx yesterday, watching the game from Stan's. For those who aren't familar, Stan's is a bar across the street from Yankee Stadium, known for being the greatest Yankee bar in the world. Anyone who disagrees...you are wrong. The...

The Wild Card roster is starting to take shape! The Yankees announced that Luis Severino will be taking the ball on Wednesday night in the Bronx, hoping to redeem himself for the abysmal second half of this season, as well as last year’s Wild Card Game against the Minnesota Twins. I think this is ultimately the right move when you consider how Boone, Cashman, and Co. are planning to attack this game. It isn’t like a normal start. If it were, my first choice would probably still be Masahiro Tanaka and I would have been very okay with JA Happ...

Sooo. The main question after this game is: "have we seen enough from Sevy for him to start the Wild Card Game?" And yes, I'm writing this on Friday - I'm an honest man, wouldn't lie to you guys. But the question still applies, even if we've had days to consider it! Sevy's line on Tuesday was: 5 IP, 4 hits, 2 ER, 3 walks, 7 Ks The man cruised through the first 2 innings, like Dominic Toretto down the streets of LA. Yes, that was another Rovell/Mike Greenberg joke. I try to embrace my corny side and throw a...
