This game had A LOT less action than Friday night's contest. That actually might be understatement of the year.  When you get 2 hits and still get a 2-1 win, you know that your pitcher must have been doing something right.  And that is 100% true for our boy, Masahiro! Who knew that #TanakaSaturday was going to be coming out in FULL EFFECT. This man pitched a gem, his lone run coming off a sac fly in the first. He didn't even give up one his classic solo shots! Whoa. 7 IP, 7 hits, 1 ER, 1 Walk, 6 Ks. Give yourself...

Frustrating series against the White Sox this week... Recapping Tuesday's game will be fun, but, all in all, this series was an utter disappointment. Hey, that's exactly what my dad calls me! An utter disappointment.  Okay, I'm totally kidding, but that would suck. Thankfully, I don't have a Red Forman type of dad. Anyways, speaking of disappointments, Game 1 sure was one.  We had a 2-0 lead, in the 6th inning, vs a 50 win team like the White Sox - that should be no problem for us!   🚨🚨 GLEYBER-BOMB 🚨🚨Torres puts the @Yankees on top with a 444-foot NO-DOUBTER into Monument Park.#YANKSonYES...

There are still roughly five weeks left in the regular season. While the Yankees are playing (mostly) well of late and Boston is experiencing their first sign of relative struggles, the overwhelmingly most likely scenario is that the Yanks will have to play that one-game Wild Card matchup. That sucks, but at least that game will almost certainly be in the Bronx. Let’s try to envision who Boone, Cashman, and/or the nerds upstairs decide will be most suitable to start that game. Luis Severino Sevy is the ace. He is having a great year and was probably the front-runner for...

The Yankees addressed their biggest need at the trade deadline when they boosted their pitching staff and brought in JA Happ and Lance Lynn (and Zach Britton!). The moves have largely worked out, aside from a few bad innings from Britton and Lynn’s relative stinker in his last start, and have forced a struggling Sonny Gray out of the rotation. Sonny made his first start since the demotion in the nightcap of Saturday’s double-header against the Baltimore Orioles. He was dazzling in his performance, finishing with a line of 6.1 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K. He...

If you listen to the podcast, you probably heard Jake say a few episodes back that we should start considering who might be on that Wild Card roster. I’ve decided to take the liberty of actually doing it. For the purposes of this exercise, I’ll assume all the guys who are currently on the DL and haven’t been ruled out for the year will be back and healthy by then. I’ll revisit this in a month or so when we have a better idea of who is healthy, but for now, let’s just assume everyone that’s on the 10-day DL...
